RONAN GALLAGHER

Since co-writing his first feature 'When The Sky Falls' an Irish Screen Production starring Joan Allen, Pete Postlethwaite, Patrick Bergen, Liam Cunningham,  Gallagher made 'Underworld' an Iron Mountain Production (starring Don Baker, Michael McElhatton, Tomas O Suilleabhain and Susan Church), which he wrote, directed, co-produced and financed.

Underworld received a rare, national cinema release in Ireland through Buena Vista and took second prize in the audience voted Best First Short Film category at the 1999 Galway Film Festival. The film was also screened at The Laemmle Theatre, Hollywood as part of the Kodak sponsored 'Oscar Run'.

He then went on to direct 'She's The One' (starring Wolf Roth) for Warner Bros Television, which has been broadcast in France, Russia, Israel and is due for a US network broadcast in 2002 as part of their new 'Dark Realm' series hosted by US actor Eric Roberts.

'Sauerkrauts and Schnitzels' a documentary on traditional Irish band 'Kila' which is currently in post production.

Guest of the Nation was cast, crewed, filmed, edited and completed over the five days of The Galway Film Festival in July 2002 through an award from The Galway Film Centre, and was screened on the closing night of the festival.

In 2005 he completed ‘Spirit’ a short documentary. Beautifully shot, the film captures the stunning and sometimes breathtaking landscapes of the north-west of Ireland and explores the nature of mans relationship with the land around him, With extraordinary music from the world renowned ‘Dead Can Dance’ who are based in nearby Cavan, and with wonderful images from Gallagher’s camerawork, ‘Spirit’ is an uplifting and philosophical film that asks if our relationship with the earth is a spiritual one and leaves the viewer in no doubt as to the beauty, enchantment and spirit of the lands and people of the North West of Ireland.

Currently in post production of ‘Loving The Alien’ and also working on his screenplay Bad Trip a feature which he will produce and direct.
